ORIGIN FUNDING PARTNERS
Attractive, stable investment returns. Positive social and economic impact.
Origin Funding Partners is a regulated, private credit investment firm that helps institutional investors access attractive, stable investment returns while making a positive impact in some of the world’s poorest communities.
We focus on high quality, primary origination. We understand that to attract private capital to impact investing, the investment has to make sense independently of the impact thesis. This ensures inflows to the sector, as well as a healthy growth rate on the assets already allocated. This can be recycled into the next impactful opportunity.

WHY INVEST IN AFRICAN AGRICULTURE?
Africa accounts for 60 percent of uncultivated land globally
There’s an abundance of arable land, but a shortage of capital (opposite to the Middle East).
Close to European and Middle Eastern consumers.
More than 60 percent of the population of sub-Saharan Africa is smallholder farmers, and about 23 percent of sub-Saharan Africa’s GDP comes from agriculture.
Rising urbanisation and the growth of urban middle-class consumers in Africa could lead to $645 billion in growth in consumer spending between 2015 and 2025.

WHY INVEST IN LATAM AGRICULTURE?
Latin America is the world’s largest food producing region with many large and established exporters. The region supplies 33 percent of China’s food and is the largest supplier to the US.
Latin America has the greatest amount of fresh water.
As global populations increase and diets become richer and more protein-heavy, the world is relying on Latin America to provide much of the shortfall.
Certain jurisdictions have strong climatic advantages making them world leaders in food production. Brazil and Argentina are leaders in soya and grains while Peru and Chile remain dominant in the fishing sector.
There is opportunity to finance these existing global players at a time when local funding remains scarce.
